Continued from (Part-8) After the vacation were over, grandson left for the city under great compulsions leaving behind the grandfather in an ocean of agony. It was a pleasant day after many days of continuous snowfall. The whole village was shining in bright sunlight the way Big Father shone for few days during the company of his grandson. But again beautiful time could not lasted long. To the village evening came with dark clouds and for the Big Father, grandson left him once again. Both the village and Big Father were in a gloomy mood. Big Father stood up from his wooden arm chair, it appeared that his old eyes wanted the eternal rest now. At this juncture of life, after passing through the numerous phases of life, he had only one wish in his heart, he wanted to see whole of his scattered family with him once again in his empty big house. He also knew that all his sons had settled down at different places, so assembling them at one place was quite impossible. Slowly walking towards ...

Silence of Grave & Peppy Teen ( Part -8)

 Continued from Part-7

As per the wish of big father, his grandson dropped him back to the village in the mid winter. All his ideas of enjoyment in city with his grandfather were down to dust. Now he was hopeful that his grandfather would surely cheer up once again after reaching his village. So he took him to all of their favourite places where both of them oftenly visited during the winter season. He tried to play all the games of past with his grandfather but everything he tried to repeat didn’t worked. It was a complete changed season for both of them. Perhaps the winter had lost its charm or the snow had lost its chill. The soft snow on which both of them had carved many faces in past was perhaps not so soft anymore. Both of them who tattle for hours in past were quiet and lull now.

To make his grandfather feel happy he decided to stay with him for the whole winter. Every night he would narrate many funny tales of past to him till he falls asleep. The boy oftenly would lost himself in the beautiful memories of his childhood during the snowy winters.

He remembered one night when he was sleeping besides his grandfather facing a window. Outside he could see a clear moon night after a heavy snow fall in the village. The moon was shining at its full and every corner of the village had bathed with its golden light. All the trees and bushes covered with soft snow were shining bright. This golden world was so fascinating for the small boy that he left his home and came out to catch this golden shine. Mesmerised by the golden shine he chased the shine from one place to another place, from one pile of snow to other. Wherever he went he could found nothing but only his dark shadow. During the chase he saw few fresh footprints on the snow. He assumed that some thieves have stolen all the golden shine from his village so he followed those footprints. He had almost crossed the boundaries of his village and had reach a hilltop. From heights of that hill he saw some flames of fire at a distance around which few men were sitting. The snow around the fire shone more bright like the gold. He was sure that he was about to catch the thieves along with  all the golden light. To reach them he ran even more faster amid the piles of snow. In the mean time a huge ball of snow rolled him and carried away. He was badly trapped in snow avalanche where he was struggling for survival. He was suffocating and cried aloud, immediately his grandfather landed his hand softly on his wet forehead. He was sweating in the freezing night and gasping with horror. The grandfather hugged him and asked about his horrifying dream.....
